The Old Tower model emphasizes 3d environment design. The model consists of a medieval stone tower surrounded by a low wall and located in a grassy field. Within the tower are an ornate chair and broad sword. The model illustrates the construction of various elements suitable for an adventure gaming environment, plus the use of texture maps and lighting effects to create mood and a sense of drama.

 

The field surrounding the tower is a texture map painted in Photoshop using a simple repeated pattern to create the grass. The road was painted onto this image and the sunken effect achieved using a simple bump map.
